Default exterior cleaning/waxing

Forgot to mention in my last post that i am contemplating cleaning/waxing my 2009 RX-350 AWD [117K miles]....bought it used from the Lexus dealer in 2011[36K]...have been getting it paste waxed from dealer from time to time and using their automated car wash....now i was thinking about doing a more thorough cleaning of the exterior.....is the protocol, washing, claying, waxing....did some research and see there are some awesome waxing products on the market but somewhat expensive [Pinnacle Souveran Carnuba Paste Wax.. 3 ounces for $59.99,Amazon] and Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant for $30.....was wondering if anyone has experience with any wax or sealant.....also not sure how to use the clay bar....is a sealant really necessary prior to waxing.....thanks for helping.

I like Chemical Guys products, check them out youtube. I bought the Torq buffer and use the scratch and swirl remover, then follow up with the 50/50 paste wax and it looks great, if use the clay bar method just wash it and use the clay lube or detail spray with the clay and then use wax or a sealant.

I've had 4 BMWs and had great results using Blitz wax and Zymol. Both are excellent carnuba based waxes. Steer clear of anything with silicone in it.
