No Heat at idle in winter and no AC in summer
2004 Lexus RX330. Like the title says, currently no heat at idle but as soon as I accelerate hot air blows perfectly fine. Towards the end of summer began noticing the same issue except this time AC. At idle cold air would stop blowing and engine temperature would rise. As soon as I begin accelerating cold air is perfect and the engine temp back to normal. I also began noticing about 3 months ago some intermittent clicking noise seemingly coming from under the dashboard. Not sure if this is related.
Any thoughts in the issue? Made an appointment with my mechanic but wanted to have some idea on what may be going on.

The heat issue sounds like a sticking thermostat. I think it's coincidence that the AC is doing something similar. That sounds more like weak cooling fans. They're 13 years old, so one or both could be getting weak.

Having what sounds like a similar issue with 2006 rx 400h.
Vehicle is only blowing hot air when engine motor is being powerd by gas.
When driving on eletric motor or idle it then goes cold.
Its winter here ! So tricky with lower speed city driving.
lexus dealer said heater rad has problem. Checked it out and its fine.
Wondering could it be a eletric heater fan motor? Or thermostat ?
any help gratefull!
