Good day folks, I just purchased a used 2009 RX 350 for my wife. It was minimally driven by the previous owner and is in great shape. Very nice and clean interior. One of my relatives, and a fellow rx 350 enthusiast, has had 3 of these over the years. I always noticed they all had this scent. Until now I just assumed it was a cologne he kept in his vehicle, but now mine has the exact same scent. It's not a strong smell but rather a more overall aroma in the air inside the vehicle. I tried searching online and can't find any mention of this special scent. This is why I've decided to start this thread and ask around the community. Is this something common in all Lexus vehicles? This is my first Lexus and I can already say it will not be my last.

I noticed this as well. I bought a 3 owner 2007 RX350. It has a very strong cologne or perfume smell. I bought it in December and here we are in May and it is still very strong.

I thought it could be from the shampoo used to porter it or maybe even the interior filter element. I wish I knew where it is coming from because I don't really like it.

You might want to replace the existing cabin filter with a new one that has enbedded charcoal such as the Fram Fresh Breeze.

I think I know what you are talking about and at first I thought it was because the detailing people did something to it, but as time progresses I think that scent is part of the car or something. Kinda leathery handmade soap smell. I like it.

I have the smell too. Only smell it every so often. It's a nice smell (hope it's not dangerous or a health risk). I have an 05 RX330 and I remember it being in my 03 RX330 (MY04).
