For either of these cars, you need to check to see if the timing belt has been changed, usually performed at 90K mileage. The cost for this replacement is about $1,000 and should be performed on time or close to it. Also have the steering boots checked for leakage by a competent mechanic who knows Lexus.
Keep in mind, a 2007, RX350 does not have a timing belt, it has a timing chain so that maintenance item is not an issue.
Despite how reliable the RX is, personally, I wouldn't buy a car with over 150K on the clock, but that's just me.

Btw, I got mine for $13k and think it's a steal. There were plenty in the 10-15k range. Go with the lowest miles you can get. The engines will run forever. Will easily put another 100k on it.

I just got a 07 RX 350 with 77k and was thinking about the upcoming timing belt service. But you're saying its a chain and not a belt? That's awesome! When did they switch? My 2000 RX had a belt. Thanks!

As a follow-up, we ended up taking the Low Miles advice and choose an '06 rx330 with 69k miles from our local Lexus dealer. $16,600 was on the high side, but it's flawless, the color my wife wanted, fully loaded, nav, stereo upgrade, one owner, always dealer serviced, and the dealer had just performed $1,800 worth of updates and service tweaks after they took it in trade three weeks ago.
Could we have found a better deal? Probably, but it hit all the right notes, is something she can drive without worry for years, and with her rx300 dead we didn't have the luxury of waiting for the best deal possible.
Thanks everyone!

It probably wouldn't have hurt to test a few, but it was frigid cold (-2) and she said she probably wouldn't have noticed a difference between them anyway (though I would have liked the larger engine).
