Default Best Bike Rack - 2007 RX350

Looking for the best Bike Rack (probably a 2-bike rack). Which seems to work better for getting the rack out of the way when using the hatch? Pull to side or pull down?

Do you have to make sure you don't try to hit the power rear hatch button otherwise it will hit the rack if you don't move it?

Note: My RX350 has the trailer hitch.

I've, got a Yakima rack with a trailer hitch, it folds down to open the rear hatch, it works and it clears, I do find it to be a bit of a pita to access the back and reinstall the pin on the rack, I carry 3 bike though.

The hitch on the RX stick out pretty far so my hatch always clears the bike rack. I have had both Thule and Yakima and both are fine. They are easy to pick up on Craigslist. $50 for 2 bike ones. $100 for 4 bike.

If it's a concern for your rack you can use the override. See page 13:

I have a Yakima tilt down hitch rack that holds up to 4 or 5 bikes. It swings down if you remove a lock pin. I have used it for at least a decade with 3 different vehicles and like it.

Default Curt hitch and Thule aero rack PICs L@@k

My his setup is the lightest since the hitch adds 50lbs. Holds 2-3 bikes and the rack is about 19-20lbs. Still get 20-21 mixed . '04 RX330
