Default Ignition Cranks but not starting

Just today this happened out of the blue.

I parked the car, turned it off, came back to the car, started it with the key, and the engine was cranking and making the proper noise, but it wouldn't start. It just kept trying to start but wouldn't.

Eventually I had it towed, but it turns out after a while it did manage to start.

I don't want this problem to arise in the future, but I don't know what it is. Maybe a spark plug?

Thoughts?

i had same thing on my Audi...turned out to be O2 sensor. Might need to plug it in to diagnostic to see if its throwing any codes.

Go to Autozone or some Auto Parts store to have your battery checked. This could be a sign that it doesn't have the amperage to start the car. If your battery is more than 3 years ago, it might be due since Lexus are very sensitive to this since my LS460 had some weird electrical and was gone once I had new battery installed.

I would take it to mechanic for diagnostic. Could be failing sensor like a crankshaft or camshaft position sensor (haven't read about anyone having issues with them on here). I think those may also cause random stalling and rough running too.
