Default 2007 RX 350 - TRAC & VSC, ABS, BRAKE light fix

Hey everyone ... Here is a fix that worked for me if you get these lights coming on intermittently --> TRAC & VSC LIGHTS, ABS, BRAKE light. The problem then disappears when car is turned off and on again.

In my situation ... I knew it had to be a problem somewhere in my front brakes because if I hit a bump with the front tire it would come on. When I replaced my rotors myself I had an opportunity to get a good look to see if there was any switches around the brake pads. Sure enough, there is a 10 mm bolt (I think that is a size) holding a magnetic plug. I removed the bolt and cleaned the magnetized plug (Put some WD40 on it) and then put in back in. I did it on both sides ... It has been a few weeks and no problem so far. Not sure what exactly those plugs do or if that was the cause of the problem. It could have been my warped rotors too ... Anyway ... it is now fixed.

FYI ... If your car is a 2003 or 2004 then it might be a brake light switch which I read only affects those models.

Hope that helps someone.

These are your ABS/Speed sensors. The distance between the magnetic sensor and what is called the TONE RING which looks like a thin gear on the axle, is what will cause a false reading. This can cause everything from the VSC lights to false abs activation at low speeds.

It is important that these be cleaned and are at the proper distance to the tone ring. Too far away and the magnetic field sensed is incorrect. Thus the computer thinks something is wrong.

Thanks HtownBlue ... I spoke to soon ... My lights are back on and off again. Not as often as before. I might need to replace these. I hope they are not too expensive.
