Thank you. This is exactly what I'm afraid of. That's why I decided to post here my concern. Of course my mechanic and I spun manually the parts and all of them looked OK. Anyways I have already bought the new water pump from e-bay for $100 and the brand is Aisin. I'll come up with the up-dates after the job is done next week.

Thank you. What is it (how to call this) and where to get it? BTW how to check the part out with the probe if this part is spinning with 800 rpm? If I was a mechanic I'd use it to check bad valves in the engine to determine which one is knocking. I'll go rather for X-ray:-)

Thanks a lot. Well, I've bought already Aisin for $100 including gasket. Is it OK pump? Did I make bad decision?

I'm pretty sure Aisin/ASCO is the OEM supplier for Toyota/Lexus water pumps. Excellent quality. Denso is the OEM trusted supplier for most of the Asian auto electronics parts.

Ok, it's done last Friday. Took 3 hours for my mechanic. Cost: $210 for labor + $100 for the pump + $20 coolant + 1 buck for distilled water. Total damage is $331. I decided to stay and to see the all process. The engine WAS NOT removed or raised up at any direction at all. All pulleys except AC and Generator, all idlers, and the tensioner had to be removed. From the top the house, the water housing along with a bunch of bolts had to be removed as well. Don't loose any bolts and be careful with their sizes. The pump has 18 bolts and they are not all the same size. While removing the pump's bolts my mechanic took a cardboard then drew the contour of the pump, made the holes and inserted each bolt in its hole as it was removed. After all use Toyota/Lexus red color premium concentrated coolant only. Mix it with distilled water 60/40 proportion. Don't freak out (like I did) when there will be blowing no hot air at first. Let the thermostat to pop up. Just drive the vehicle and in a couple miles you'll hear sound indicated that your thermostat opens and hot air should rush in the cabin. Good luck.
