Default 08 RX350 engine oil cooler pipe rupture.

On way to church in Frankin, TN the morning of 2/15/15 and oil cooler line ruptured. Vehicle is covered in oil. Warning Light never came on and engine never run hot. Hope there's no engine damage. Found out there is an enhancement warranty for this issue. I'm the second owner of vehicle and if previous owner didn't receive or misplaced this warranty will Lexus still honor the repair?

You could be the 10th owner and they'll still cover it. I just changed mine a week ago as I didn't want to find myself somewhere in trouble like you just did. I just can't believe that Toyota makes you wait until it's weeping (or blown out) before they'll change it. I hope they treat you well.

About $85 with the gaskets and shipping. Yes, I did it myself when I was changing the oil. It's a tight, uncomfortable, job. It only takes hand tools but you'll need a generous assortment of extensions, swivel joints and deep sockets to get it done. I think I invented the concept of a half-deep socket as I struggled to get things apart. I later found out that they actually exist. Did I mention that it's tight quarters?!

Default 08 RX350 engine oil cooler lines

Got a call from Lexus of Cool Springs in TN and they said it's ready and no charge to me. They even if had it towed to them.

I'm the third owner of a 2007 RX350. I called my Lexus dearer a few minutes ago (11:30). I asked about the replacement of the oil cooler lines. They looked up my VIN number, and said it was done on 1-14-2010. Had it not been done they would replace it at no charge. I know that you are glad to hear that If you already replaced it on YOUR own, Lexus will reimburse you... make sure you have the receipts.

I'm glad Lexus stood behind this repair. I wish they would stand behind replacement of rear hatch switch, because I have one of the many that melted into a gooey mess.
