Input on GY Tripletred and Conti PureContact
I posted this on the tires forum but I'm not getting any response.
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/the...recontact.html
So basically I need feedback on GY Tripletred and Continental PureContact with Eco tech. I do have dedicated winter tires so I don't really need snow/ice performance. I heard the TripleTred gets noisy, any comment on that? When does Continental have their sale/rebates?
I also really like the fact that the Contis are only 24lbs.
Thanks!

I did... but i wanted to get some input from people here.
It's kinda weird that they are not that popular considering they are both top rated on Tire rack and consumer reports. What I want to find out too is if PureContact users have noticed a diff in ride/handling, acceleration, and fuel economy given its only 24 lbs. Compared to the Tripletred which is 31 lbs. That's a 7lb difference that makes a big unsprung weight difference.

The EcoPlus technology in the Continental Pure Contact will be the big deciding factor. 7 pounds per corner is huge weight and you will feel this when driving.
I would expect the Continental to have a better ride quality and would also expect it to perform a little better in wet weather conditions, if that is a concern.
Directional tires (like the Goodyear Assurance Triple-tread) in general tend to get loud. Also, you can only rotate the tire front to rear, which will impact tread life considerably.
