Black Suede Dash Mat in a 2005 Lexus RX330

Purchased this on ebay.
Its black suede.
Fits great to cover most cracks.

I chose this one over the sedona suede (which has small pin holes) because I think it matched better.
For the lexus car with perforated leather seats (small holes in the seats) the sedona suede might by more suitable.

Does it block the passenger airbag? I thought we are discouraged from putting anything over airbag locations.

TriniLex 07-25-14 12:25 PM

there is no cut out for the airbag. I guess with the amount of pressure the mat would just fly off.

Even if the airbag did go off, it would just throw the dash mat at your face. I can't imagine that piece of soft suede would hurt anymore that a bag made of rough fabric exploding at your face.

i purchased that item too. It's held on with Velcro tabs so it will fly out of the way upon airbag deployment. It's a shame that Lex won't man-up.

The IS owners are trying to get t Lexus Corp to pay for their deshboard problem.....if the RX can get enough complaints they might take care of that (like the headlights problem)

That IS dashboard issue is crazy. My neighbor has a 2007 IS250 and she leaves her car in the sun all day, and I can see the dash just melting away. It's practically turned to goo.

can you link to what brand you got? theres a few on ebay, yours look good...

Nozzleman 09-09-14 04:45 PM

I have the "Dash Designs" brand. I'm satisfied with it.

TriniLex 09-09-14 06:51 PM

This is a dash designs brand.
I have an extra black one for sale

CDubRX330 12-08-16 08:24 AM

Yay!

This is an older discussion BUT i had to come and thank you guys! Because of this issue I contacted Lexus and they will take care of the dashboard for free. The waitlist isn't nearly as long as I imagined.
