March 29, new plugs and coils and very little driving, 6-27 trip to the bad lands of so. Dakota. After a stop at Wounded Knee my Daughter in Law took over the driving, we left the cemetery on the hill back thru the bad lands thousands of miles from a red light or stop sign when she memented the car was not responding very well to the throttle and it was getting hard to steer and then cut out, coasted the side of the road. Hours later after we were towed to Shadron Neb. (70 miles away and the only town of any size ) 5000 population, dropped off at our Motel took 2 days it get it drug away and no tow companies in the area. Now back in Colo, (car still in Neb.) learned the engine was toast as the car had lost all its coolant. Still awaiting a price to fix there ( worth 200 dollars at the local salvage yard)
Today, spoke to original mech. who did the plugs, his response was to get the car here and he would put a used engine in it, will check with his Garage Keepers Legal Liability coverage to see if any help there.
Will let you know how this goes.

I forgot to mention why the car lost its coolant, the small coolant hose that attaches to the throttle body came loose, the clamp was well back of where it should had been to secure the hose to the nipple of the throttle body and no indication that the clamp has been it should have been. Thats why it maybe a claim under the Garage keepers Legal coverage as it covers any resulting damage to the vehicle of work done by the mech after the car leaves the shop.
Thats a short answer anyway.

It can happen to anybody and if it's the hose I'm thinking of it was probably removed when pulling the intake.
I recently removed coil #1 & #5 without removing the throttle body or intake to see if it can be done and it's extremely tight and delicate job but it is possible on RX330.
However, I don't think #3 cylinder can be removed without pulling the throttle body with that hose in question unless someone has a way.
