Default Need advice on roof trim

I drove my RX350 through a car wash and the black rubber trim underneath the roof rack came loose (drip side finish molding or similar?) It was still attached near the front, so I tried just pressing it back in by hand, but could not make it "snap" into place and am worried that it will come completely loose while driving. Any suggestions or advice? Thanks

I had the same thing happen and the piece got lost in the carwash tracks...The carwash bought me a new piece from lexus and when I installed it, it didn't really snap into place. It just kinds lies in the channel and had a little pice of foam with some adhesive on it. I did notice that the rubber is supposed to go in a certain way...so if it isn't fitting well, try turning it around. Mine hasn't come out again, but if it ever does I will add some dabs of glue to hold it in.

Car washes that have been in business awhile, will have hundreds of found trim pieces that were dislodged. These are ones use mechanized brushes that can damage your car. That is why I will only use touch-less, 100% hand wash for my Lexus.

Yes, the one I used was "touchless," no brushes, just spray jets - I think it was actually the blower/dryer that made it come off....maybe should just do hand-wash going forward. Anyway, I am wondering if I need to put some type of adhesive under it, and if so, what kind? Thanks lots
