Who Uses Toyota 0W-20?
Do you like it for mpg, better running, smoother?
Need input |
I use Mobil 1 0-20weight.
Great oil, and only $24 at Wallyworld. for 5 qts. Engine is smooth, and never a drop used between oil changes. Seems to perform well in hot summer also.... |
Toyota 0W-20 is highly regarded on BITOG. It is an exceptional oil.

There was a long discussion in the 3GS forum recently on using 0W20 in general

I wonder if there would be any drawbacks switching from 5w30 to 0w20 with my RX with 218000kms on it?

might be too thin for high mileage car.....
IMHO I'd stick with what the Manual states to avoid headaches down the road..... |

IMHO I'd stick with what the Manual states to avoid headaches down the road..... Agreed. I used 5W-20 Pennzoil Platinum for an oci. The Fuel millage was definitely better, and cold engine performance. But I would smell this burning oil smell in the morning, and their was a thin coat of oil film in the tail pipe. So I switched back to 5W-30. My motor is also smoother on the 5W-30 than the 5W-20 too. |
ok, what about 0W30 due to cooler weather arriving up here

I'm south of the tree-line, the CN tower is a great point of reference :-)

+1 for Mobile 1 0W30! :p
|
+ 2 for the Mobil-1 0W-30, i`v used it many times. The RX runs great on it. I might switch back to that after my Quaker State stash is used up.
