Default Both front windows won’t go down

Hi all
I have a 04 RX 330 and the 2 front widows will not go down. This happened the other day when a gust of wind caught the driver’s side door and slammed it closed. I didn’t notice the problem until the next day when I tried to open the window. Now both the passenger’s front and driver’s window will not go down.
I’ve researched the past postings on how to reset the windows after a battery change. Last night I stopped and had the battery and alternator check and both are working fine. I’ve tried the key in the door, both back windows open and close but not the front. I’ve tried the key fob and got the same result. The auto locks work as well as the tailgate.
Any suggestion?
Thanks
Mike

Try to re-set. Unplug battery and read your re-set procedures in the manual, I am sure you will them working again. Good luck.

Well the "unplug the battery" didn't work.
Any other suggestion would be great
Thanks

How long did you leave the battery unplugged?

Did you go through the reset procedure that's in your owner's manual after you let the battery sit unplugged?

You probably have to do this in the evening or at night, but look on each window button and there's a faint light on it, the windows that work correctly would be lit, the ones that need to be reset will work.

You can also try pulling the fuse and then doing the reset procedure. I can't remember exact what it was because I had a problem with the rear driver side window, I tried it and the window got stuck half way in the middle and wouldn't move. I got frustrated and was going to drive to Autozone to see if there's something I can get to cover it, and by habit when I remove the keys from the car I roll up all the windows and the window rolled up on its own. Then started functioning correctly. I think you have to fully roll it up then roll it all the way down twice but do a search in the thread to find the exact procedure.

The battery was unpluged for about 5 or 10 min.
I believe I followed the directions correctly
Towards the front of my book is a section on how to set the windows once the battery has been changed.
The instructions start out by saying to lower the window ½ way. I can’t get the window to budge. I also notice the idle is now at about 400 rpm.
Did I miss something?
Thanks
Mike

do the lights on the switches light up? or, when you push them, do they blink at all ?

I may not have the answer for you, but these are all diagnostic type questions.

Thanks for hanging in there with me on this!
I’ll have to check tonight when I pull it into the garage.
Funny thing I’ve never noticed those lights before on the switches
I’ll report back tonight
Mike

Battery was disconnected for 45 mins.
I put the key in and turned to on (not started). Driver’s button was flashing. The other 3 lights were on. I tried to open driver’s window and it would not open. I went to the back door. The button was flashing. I normalized it as well as the other back window. Both went to solid light. Went to the passenger’s front door and the light on the button is off. The window would not go down.
On the driver’s door the driver’s window button is flashing and the other 3 are on solid. On the passenger’s door window button light is off.

Let us try something from page 25 of the Owner's Manual to see if it works. First lock your RX from the outside. Next, press and hold the unlock button on your key fob. It is supposed to cause all windows to roll down, the moon roof to open and the doors to unlock. You can read up on it here:

Make sure your window lock button is not depressed. There is not a true indicator whether the window lock is activated. Check that button first.

Morning all
Well the window lock is not on. I did push it on and off to make sure. I tried locking from the outside and holding down the unlock button on the fob.
Both back windows opened but the 2 front windows and sunroof did not open.
Thanks
Mike

Try performing a continuity test, if you have the equipment, on fuse #68 to see if it is good.

Short of that you will need to have the shop plug in a tester to check things such as the multiplex network switch circuit which controls all such things. The door slamming may have disconnected the power source, damaged the circuit itself or the wire harness.
