It maybe as simple as a failing fob battery, that's the cheapest place to start!

Did you try the fob and the dash switch? Have you disconnected the battery lately?

A battery disconnect can cause various systems to need resetting. Are your windows , sunroof and locks operating normally?

Oh yeah...doesn't make sense does it? We changed a fuse and had to fix the windows and sunroof. You would think that a sunroof is a sunroof, but apparently not after you change a fuse or battery....same with windows. Very odd behavior.

Hope you figure out your liftgate. That is frustrating. Our liftgate does not open by hand and we require the remote control... for some reason it doesn't open on it's own and needs to be forced....

That steering rack repair is expensive. It sounds like you have a 30 day agreement with the dealership to fix anything that is wrong? Maybe you should get them on it before it's to late. We would just be making a guess. My thinking is a bad motor.

Well the replaced the steering rack and glove box. Almost 2k in parts in labor, but no door.

Im on the hook for this, not that upset. I just need to figure out what the heck happened. It worked then it just stopped. Has this symptom happened to anyone else?

It's rare but it does happen. Search 'tail gate', 'rear deck' and your favorite, 'lift gate' for some ideas on what happened.

Did you perform a continuity check on fuse #4 inside the engine bay to make sure it is good?

I did not check the fuses, I will check this eveing with my test light. I can hear the power door latch grapper thingy once you close the rear latch. I just get no sign of life from the power lift gate when you activate it.
