Long Term Storage Question
 

I have a question for the group. We have two cars that have sat in our garage for all of 2020. One is a 2013 RX450h with about 36,000 miles on it and the other is a 2007 ES350 with about 52,000 miles on it. The 2013 was driven less than 100 miles in 2020 and we only put 8 miles on the 2007 ES 350. The reason for the low mileage is that we spent all of 2020 in the Hawaiian Islands, waiting for the pandemic to die down and/or for a vaccine to come on the street. Should we be worried about the low mileage on the two cars?

Should be Ok, New cars sit on Lots for many months, 6-9 months at times.. I would put a can of "Seafoam" in the gas tank to Stabilize the gas, oil doesn't go bad so just do the Service when you get back. Fill you tires to max level to help with flatspots.

Edit: and Disconnect your NEG on your battery..

The one thing that always seems to spark a debate is regarding the tires, I'm of the belief that one should put their car on jack stands for that long of a time frame.

Dealer cars get moved around with inventory changes, your stored car will not. It's cheap insurance to avoid having to replace your tires, and if applicable, ie. stored in a storage facility where no one can get under the car and tamper with it.
