Has anyone experienced alternator whine after installation of aftermarket deck?

I started getting a very slight whine, small but noticeable to me. The weird thing is it wasn't there at the very start but came couple months after I installed the deck. Not sure if it's a coincidence but it started the first time I towed something with my new hitch. OEM hitch/wiring. Yes, weird.

I used a Pac TATO harness adapter with a Kenwood DNX7190 headunit.


Ideas?

In older cars, this used to be resolved by using a condenser on the power line of the radio.

Normally alternator whine is caused by ground loops when adding amps to the setup and having grounds in the trunk or something. I have no extra amps.

My only idea is to maybe ground the PAC TATO directly to the chassis instead of stock harness ground wire.

Need to check grounds. More ground the better.

If ypou can run a larger gauge wire DIRECTLY from your Deck to the Frame this will help. Also, you can also check the stock amp and use a larger gauge wire for a ground which allows a greater current flow to ground.

The closer you are to grounding to the frame or sub frame, the better. Grounding to sheet metal often times cannot support the ground current load efficiently, this the feedback.

they are all correct...this is caused by a "bad" ground...you can change the ground to a different ground...if this doesn't change anything you need to check the headunit...there are times where the headunit itself can have bad ground joints internally

9/10 when you tried everything, and problem still exist you have to ground the rca going to the headunit. take a while and stick it in the inside of the rca and plug it into your headunit, then ground it
