Unknown. Very subjective. Could be normal.
to give more details
the noise occurs when the engine warmed up probably i am not sure but when i park next to my house i reverse park on a hill
so i am not sure if it occurs while cold cause i am about to leave the home in Drive then
but when i am back with engine on operating temperature and the gauge pointing to the middle
while parking in reverse and rpm ~ 1000-1500 i get a noise i can't describe what type of noise

it only occurs while the transmission in reverse with little load climbing a hill
do you have any idea on item that may fail at 54k miles and create this symptom ?
i understand that you can't diagnose the problem without looking at the veichle but if you could give some pointers or suggestions of failing parts

if at all should i avoid backing up on hills at all ? or it could be non threating noise and i could simply ignore it

Thanks again

The front differential and transmission fluid are one in the same. So, any Type IV or better. You could go with Toyota WS (which is the lifetime fluid used in the RX350) if available. Perhaps Mobil ATF 3309. Both should be globally available to you. The Toyota WS is a synthetic and that is always a good thing to go with if available.

For the rear differential, looks like you should use a straight 90W gear lube. Any synthetic you can find will do. Might be hard to find a 90W only synthetic, so any 80W-90 or 75W-90 could substitute.

The power steering fluid uses a DEXRON ATF... it is not power steering fluid. Myself and many others here use Mobil 1 ATF for this application. Would not hurt to look at what they used to replace what was in there from the factory.

Never any harm in replacing fluids early. Sometimes it is just a waste of money, however, if never done before it would not hurt as you would get an idea on any problems that may be creeping up on you.

So, in short I would check with the shop to see what they use or have available in the way of synthetics. Anything you can get in synthetic form from Toyota, Mobil 1, RedLine, Royal Purple, Amsoil or similar will do.
Sorry to bring this thread back from the dead. I wanted to clarify that there is no changing the front differential fluid cause it's all in the trans? I just need to worry about changing the rear diff and trans when needed? Going nuts here thinking I went way over the time limit when I did not change the front differential when I did the rear. Help would be greatly appreciated.
