Anyone Using Amsoil in Their RX's?
Really considering it, wanted to know if it's worth the extra $
|
Are you thinking Amsoil for engine, transmission, diffs and/or power steering? I have Royal Purple in transmission, diff and power steering; i prefer synthetic fluid. As for engine I use Mobile 1 or Pennzoil

I just purchased Amsoil for engine, transmission and differential. Once I get to do the oil changes I will post updates.
P.S. its not more expensive then any other synthetic oil. 2007 RX350 |

I use Amsoil for all the fluids except the brakes in my 2006 RX330

I don't in my RX, but I did in two other vehicles I used to own. It's some pretty decent stuff from what I hear. Just remember to couple it with a good filter as well (i.e. Amsoil, K&N).
Amsoil also makes an oil bypass filtration kit. I've heard other people sing praises of these things as well. |
I'm using Mobil 1 in the engine (5w30) and Amsoil ATF in the trans and power steering.

I use Amsoil in one of our other cars but it's a performance vehicle and I prefer having the added safety margin of very good synthetics. Even among owners of that car not all agree that Amsoil is worth it. Polling others will never really help you in determining where your own preferences lie. You need to consider the needs/wants of those responding to your poll if you're going to do so. Haven't really decided on whether we'll use Amsoil in our RX but we just purchased it and have yet to receive it. |
Well stated, takeshi74.

Pennzoil 5W-20 in the motor, Valvoline Synthetic in the transfer/rear diff. Toyota ATF in the trans. Mobil-1 ATF in the power steering.

For your engine only right? The transmission on the 2007 RX350 uses World Standard Fluid only.

I just did the oil and fluid changes on my 07 RX350 and I have to tell you that the car runs really smooth. Personally I think Amsoil it's the way to go, but again everybody has a different opinion about anything and everything in this world.

in my 08 rx350, i use wix filters and castrol edge titanium (cheaper than amsoil, works just as well)
in the diff and transfer-case I use amsoil severe gear 75w90, transmission drain and fill was done with amsoil low viscosity atf. |
