Yes, let us know if you can take pics. Now is it just front breaking the plastic or other lights as well?

Yeah where were the pics? I am doing this DIY as well, finally. Did my park lights in the front, that was easy. The License bulb is not pop out and change, Sucks. But might as well replace the Reverse and License Plate at teh same time. Will the 168 LED be brighter than our stock reverse lights?

Depends on the product you choose as its replacement. The 194 LED is supposed to be a direct fit.

A stock 168 LL bulb from Sylvania with a color temp of 2800K puts out 38 lumens.

The following can be had at 6500K and 40 lumens:

So, are you looking for brighter or whiter?

Brighter, so visibility is better.

Will the normal 168 LED be ok? 168 is shorter right (vs 194)?

I have not seen a 168 LED only bulb which is brighter. Do you have one in mind?

I have an extra pair of 168's. If I am replacing my license bubs might as well replace the reverse lights, since the back will be torn down. What do you think?

So I'm looking for brighter bulbs to help the reverse cam so I'm guessing white instead of blue. Also thinking of replacing the license plate as well as the reverse to give the most visability behind the car, so with all that, what bulbs would you go with?

The problem with the RX is that the reverse has that stupid 'partial' reflector blocking any direct light... So something like the projector bulbs may or may not work as effectively as a car without a shroud.

This is the bulb type The downside being that these bulbs are slightly larger than conventional 194's

+1. I purchased a pair of the projector type LED bulbs for my 400h. They look great if you're facing the lights directly, but they're not so bright from an off angle view, especially during the daytime. I didn't notice this until my wife was driving it. I'm planning on changing to a "360" type LED, as I don't want to risk someone smacking into me in a parking lot.

I am sorry for my recent absence from the forum.

@mandyfig, here are the pictures you were asking for. I am sorry for taking so long to get this done and post these pictures. I haven't had a chance to mess with the reverse lights yet, but I will be sure to post if/ when I get around to it.

The Sylvania bulbs work well, with some modification (see below).

Picture 1
These are the lights I used. I bought these from a local Autozone for $9.99 each. Since it is Sylvania, I would think that you could order these from your local auto parts store if you are not near an Autozone. They are also available on Amazon, but currently out of stock. Here is the link anyway.
Amazon Amazon

Picture 2
This is the original bulb next to the LED replacement. The original bulb is a 168. Comparing the two, the LED replacement is a little longer and a bit wider in diameter as it is really is designed as a 194 replacement. I had to do a little modification to get this to fit into the license plate light housing. The problem is the clear plastic diffuser makes the bulb a little too long to fit into the housing.

Picture 3
I grabbed a pair of tin snips I had laying around (it was right there in front of me when I opened my toolbox, just in case you were wondering why the overkill). I just dug into the diffuser a little and pulled it off.

Picture 4
Another angle of picture 3.

Picture 5
The bulb with the diffuser pulled off. Yes, the bulb is only a single LED, but it is very bright.

Halfway done comparison shot. The LED is much brighter than the regular 168.

Pictures 7 & 8
Finally done!

You only have to break a little bit of plastic off the factory connector for the front parking lights to use the Sylvania LED bulbs. The reason for this is that the diameter (width of the bulb) is just slightly greater than a regular 168. By breaking a little bit of plastic off the factory connector, you can effectively put any 194 bulb in there. This is ONLY for the front parking lights, as far as I know right now.

The output on this bulb is 55 lumens, FWIW. Appropriate for when comparing one against another. The original 168 is 38 lumens as I mentioned previous.

It can also be found at some Advance Auto Parts. Same price, $9.99, however, you can use the P20 discount code to get an extra 20% off your order at the moment.

From what I have found regarding LED replacements, they all seem to be 168/194 and nothing which is strictly a 168 LED setup.

Thanks for the update.
