Default Heating Servo

Took my 2004 RX330 into the dealership a few weeks ago because the heat on the drivers side of the car wasn't working. Discovered it was probably a bad servo motor by searching forums. Dealer charged me $120 to diagnose and confirmed that was the case and ordered the part. For once I got lucky...when driving home, I was surprised that the heat was once again working! I suspect that the motor hinge was just stuck shut and that when they pulled things apart to diagnose, it came undone. So, I'm back in action! That said, would recommend that you try the same if you're having a similar issue...just pay the dealer to diagnose and see if it comes back to life. Maybe you'll be as lucky as me!

Here is the sad part .. the servo costs about $120 and with labor/diagnosis the fix would cost you about $250. Had you searched the CL .. specially the RX300, for the same money you could have fixed the problem (dont know if you are a DIYer).

The bad side is, as summer approaches, your system may be stuck on heat.

Sorry if I rained on your parade.
