Heads up to RX330 second gen owners: just had my car into the mechanic because of a loud noise coming from the engine compartment. It got progressively worse over a couple of weeks and was louder when turning; hence, I suspected it had something to do with the power steering pump. Turned out to be one of the lines/hoses that went to the pump had rusted out and caused the power steering fluid to leak out. My indepenent mechanic was able to create a new line out of copper pipe and I'm back to 100% after only $100 damage. He said that he had done the same thing for another Lexus a couple of weeks earlier, so it seems like this may be a common thing. Don't want you guys to be ripped off by any dealers saying you need a new power steering pump or more expensive unneccessary equipment! I've got a 2004 RX330 with 391,000 KM.
