Default it had to happen during the holiday :(

well here i am sharing my misery
so Monday dec 5th well more like dec 6th because it happened at 2 am
it was snowing litely so my younger brother asked to take the Lexus to go see couple friends before he got there got distracted somehow and bam goes over a curb hits a fire hydrant from the side a thin pole and after that hits a tree
pretty much the driver side of the vehicle got all the hit
towed it to the mechanic
so far this is what i need
2 rims

left front: axle, lower control arm, lower ball joint, inner tire rod, strut, stabilizer link, front rotor and pads, abs sensor, spindle.

left rear: rear shock, drag arm.

left side airbag <<< which btw is it just one that is on the A pillar? or is it two units one front and one back?

back bumper, front bumper ( could be fixable) left headlight ( could also be fixable have to check how many brackets broken ) a left rear door, windshield water reservoir that bucket.

thats it for now till i do a four wheel alignment

if any of you can help that would be great even tho i dont know how lol but an advice or closure would be nice

p.s forgot to mention even tho i have insurance on the car my brother doesn't have insurance and hes not on mine since he doesn't have a car when i went to my insurance broker he said i don't think you should claim it because he isn't on your insurance they wont cover this and if they do most likely they will cancel your policy after or double your monthly payment.
and here are the pictures

Sorry to hear that! main is you and your brother are okay!

I dont know what else is broke.

1. You can fix it, just get a nice deal from your mechanic, (not the dealership)
2. Sell it to car auctions, you will get nice deal from them. I know guys who buying this condition cars to resell them in europe. (Russia and UAE is top market for them) as parts or to repair.
3. Or do like my dad=) After the car accident in which his Benz saved his life in all meanings, he parked it at backyard. We asked him to sell it or to fix it=) But he still saying: "This car gave his own life to save mine, now he is dead, do not disturb him!" =)))

Yeah, but still try to work it our with Insurance first.

PS. all this post is just my opinion, i hope other members will give you better advice than me!

Looks awful! Sorry to hear this but I hope everyone is ok. However that was a bit much for a "distraction" I might add. Wow.

I would like to add that the transaxle may be damaged also...once they fix everything else...I would not let the insurance company do that to you. They are trying to get out of it.

I do hope bro plans to pay for this. Truly a crappy situation, it's the possible hidden damage that is frightening.

yes i got an estimate for body work 1500-1700$ to straighten everything out but i do still have to bring the door and rear bumper so that's another 500$
parts cost without labor
airbag 300$ new
axle 250$ used
lower control arm, lower ball joint, inner tire rod, strut, stabilizer link, front rotor and pads, abs sensor, spindle. 650-900$
rear shock nothing used yet so i have to keep looking it looks like i need a spindle too but not 100% sure so i might buy a whole rear for 750$ because i remember buying a brand new spindle from the dealer one time when i couldn't find a used one i paid 800$ this way i can sell the rest of the parts
2 rims each 150$
4 wheel alignment 100$
labor i didnt ask since i was a regular customer when i had the 06 ford expedition and i completely forgot to ask coz i was worried about finding the parts but no more than 300$ i think

so far i would say 4000-4500$ without labor and plastic covers under the car and other stuff that could be wrong once i fix whats mentioned

It is hard to look at pics like these. Glad nobody was hurt. Good luck with the re-build.

I don't understand you saying he was not on the policy. You gave him permission to drive your car, the car was insured and that means the insurance company is on the hook for the repairs, minus any deducible and betterment charges for items that have that attached. Call them now and get it towed to a authorized Lexus/Mercedes/Audi/BMW shop and get the best repairs possible. Go with someone that knows the vehicle and can accurately estimate the real costs to return tot he pre accident condition.

I, too, was of the opinion that it was the vehicle that was insured and not necessarily the driver.

the body work quote seems really low and are you sure a new airbag is only $300? I always thought these were over $1k.
