Default 2004 Lexus RX with 100K miles, What's it worth?

I am trying to purchase this car for my daughter that goes to school in California, the guy selling the car seems negotiable. If I can grab it for $13,500 I might take it. Here is the car - http://globalautosports.com/car/2004...SUV-37631.html

I know the RX is very dependable and figured she could drive it to 150K miles in the next 3-4 years.

Looking for some advice from owners of high mileage RX's

I highly doubt you'll get it for $13,500 << that would be a steal!!
100k is nothing. It'll go to 300k easily.

Agreed, hypervish. Do not think you will get another $3700 off the price.

This SUV is a beast. Enough said! The price is no way going to be lower than $15,000 for that model and mileage unless you get it from a private seller. I'd say if that indy car seller agrees to sell it at $15,500, you take it. Five to six months ago, there was a new RX owner in here negotiated and purchased a 2004 220K mile RX330 for something like ~$12,800 and she loved it! Good luck to you.

$15-16K is a very reasonable price for 100k mile RX. You can do a web search and this model is running anywhere from $14k-18K depending on mileage and overall condition. The lower the miles, the higher the price or vice versa.

It isn't impossible to find a reasonable price, here is one in NY...

http://www.carsforsale.com/used_cars...0_136364559_37

And one in CA...

http://www.carsforsale.com/used_cars...0_134738519_43

These have lower asking prices, don't know if they are close but there are over 400 '04 330s on this site.

The thing is, at that mileage you will have to do a 90k check up if it hasn't been done and you can bet a lot of them got traded to avoid the cost of the service.

Bought mine with 112K on it and paid $16,500... They listed it for $19,500... It just turned 120K and (knock wood) is running like a top. Really happy with the purchase, though I have to admit I was a little leary about going from on 09 Malibu with 40K miles to an 04 with 112K...

I'd say $15k~$16k would be a good price for it if was maintained well and timing belt service was done.

I searched for used RX330's for past few weeks (mostly Craigslist for private party sales, Autotrader.com, and Cars.com) and just bought a 05 RX330 with premium plus pack and 79k miles for $16,700 from a small dealer. It's been dealer serviced and extra clean! I'd say I was very lucky to get this for $16,700 and I did check service records available from Lexus website and Carfax. I also has a mechanic inspect it prior to the purchase to assure there were no previous damages or repairs will be needed soon.

I was considering other used luxury SUV's, Infiniti FX and Acura MDX, but the RX seems to be the best choice and I'm glad that I found one in great condition. I very much enjoy the smooth and quite ride and hope to keep it for many years.
