That sucks to hear, did you encounter problems with your lexus that prompted you to trade it?

No major issues….just minor things. Knock sensor engine code kept randomly popping up and when it did, the engine performance was reduced. Also A/C blew warm at idle. Most past items I was able to fix myself but these two I wasn’t able to get done. It was my wife’s daily driver….if it was mine, I could probably deal with it…but it was her birthday and she always dreamed of having a new 4Runner. Figured it’s now or never with the Toyota shortages.

This looks great. I want to do this. The Sine converter just plugs into the rear outlet? The thing coming off your battery to the right is the battery selector?
What did you get for the second battery? where does it fit?
I also use a solar cell, connected to my battery, but sometimes it actually drains my battery. It claimed reverse charge protection, but apparently not.
Other advice? Would love to do this for camping, birding, and working on road trips.

Here's an almost-complete upgrade/mod of my RX350:
-Jotto Desk adjustable vehicle laptop mount
-Dual battery w/balanced draw/charging & selector (1/2/Both/OFF)
-1200W Giandel Pure Sine Wave Inverter
-25w Solar charging cell
------
Soon:
-High Output Alternator (230A+)
-Additional / larger solar cell
-Dynamic Battery Usage/Charging isolator
-Rip and replace 4gauge front to back feeds with 2g
(I under-estimated starting draw pull from rear battery.)
This RX350 is my first real SUV, having had mostly sports cars or sporty little coupes for many years. Having a vehicle with actual towing capacity and storage space, I decided this might also make a good camping / mobile power supply. I've always had a 400W inverter & laptop mount in most of my vehicles, but this upgrade kicks it up a notch to give me enough power to run tools and appliances easily. I'm a traveling computer / electronics tech with an 'odd jobs' side business.
May add an additional (3rd) battery if I end up camping more
My questions were about this post by AngelMarie. I'd love to do this for camping, birding, and working on road trips. Would appreciate more details about adding batteries and solar.
