Default 2004 RX 330 Struts

What product best to replace struts on 2004 Lexus RX 330 with 150,000 miles, but in good shape. Want comfort for wife, and similar to original ride.

Why not OEM if you liked the ride? Try pricing at Toyota.

^^^+1 If you liked the OEM ride, go back to OEM. Check pricing at Sewell also.

Thanks. Lexus was 2 times higher than a local tire place which would install KYB for $1000. I will try Toyota, if that could be cheaper than Lexus.

Also, want to buy 1-2 year old Lexus ES 350. If new, but 2010 or 2011 model year, should an average Lexus dealer discount the price, specifically with a loaded one?

If you got 150K out of the original struts and were happy, I think that would be the best place to start. On average, I find the Toyota dealer I use for service to be half the price of the Lexus shop and is even closer in my case. Sure, no loaners, etc. However, I did not get a loaner when I had the brake recall done nor the floor mat clips replaced as those were under 2 hours of labor. Had to wait around while it was serviced each time.

YMMV.

What is the Typical Life span of a Lexus Strut? I recently purchased my first Lexus, a 112K RX330 AWD. It now has a little over 115K. I have not found any evidence that the struts have been replaced and I am thinking 115K is probably pushing it. Sounds like Toyota struts may be cheaper but will the ride be sacrificed? I am assuming if I had air ride it would be rather obvious and I do not see any tubing atahced to the strut. Thanks

The Toyota dealer would be your best bet for good work and less cost.

Or your independent trusted local mechanic if you have one.
