Default Center console in the way, is there a shorter version?

I have a 2006 RX400h and the center console is too far aft. Is there a replacement center console that is "shorter"? There is no leg room for the 5th passenger with that center console in place. Any advice?

Open the cup holder console, squeeze lever and slide forward.

Winning!

don't own 2nd gen RX but also want to know.
So you can slide the FLOOR console to the front to create more leg room for the 2nd row middle seat?

I think the console was wired with lights for the cupholders?

I've tried that and it won't move. How much resistance is in that squeeze of the lever? Mine is very easy. Perhaps it's not connected to whatever.

Perhaps a spilled soft drink gumming up the works? You might have someone sit in the rear and gently push as you pull. It is a very soft handle feel btw.

Just tried mine and it's very easy as well. But mine does move so perhaps something faulty with yours?

Might be that the cable that attaches the lever to the release mechanism of the console is loose or not connected. Best to remove the console and check all connectors. Have you also tried this

* Open the cup holder
* Pull the lever up
* Rock the console back and forth just in case something is jamming it
* Move the console to desired position.

My buddy's RX had some grime and gunk (coins, i think) that stopped it from sliding forward. He cleaned it first and got it to move.
