My back right bulb has apparently gone out.

I went to napa auto parts and it just said LED for the part number. I need to get it replaced but I'm not sure where to buy it or what to ask for?

Oh, it's the one inside the back hatch, not on the one on the fender.

Any help??

I may be wrong on this, But I think it`s a dealer item only.

Hard to say from your description. A picture would help better define. If it is what I think it is, would be a 168. List can be found at the Philips web site:

Better to purchase one at the dealership, I put one that was the same exact part number from Pep boys and it didn't work. My Toyota mechanic put another one it also didn't work. But when I went in for the recall, I asked my service adviser to replace my light bulb which Lexus did , and now it works perfectly.

Remember to only purchase the light bulb from the dealership, I was an idiot and told SA to replace it, which cost me $30.00 for labor. I called the dealership 20 minutes later, and wanted to tell my service adviser to forget about the labor; but lo and behold he conveyed to me that the bulb was already installed. Well I guess live and learn! I will never have work done at the dealership again, unless I still have warranty of the car.

Are you talking about the brake light bulb in the light on the quarter panel? If so, it has an LED assembly inside the tail light housing. You can order the LED seperately, but you can't get it out of the housing. We replace the whole tail lamp assembly.

Both of my tail light assembly looks melted. What is the cost on those?

On the rear lamps, tails are regular bulbs. The stop light however are LED's and are dealer item only. They replaced the whole set. No kind of repair or replace components that I know of. One of mine was replaced.

Just to vent a little bit:

Auto manufacturers have been producing vehicles for 100 years, and they still can't make a good headlight or taillight assembly? I can understand a headlight getting dirty, but problems with water and bad wiring/connections, come on!! I think they are making them to fail for profit purposes.

FYI, the OEM bulb in my rear taillights is pictured below, it's a W5W. I just pulled it out now, and it's the original. While the 168 and 193 bulbs are similar "wedge base" T10 style bulbs and will fit, from what I've been able to determine bulb p/n 2825 is the correct replacement for a W5W. A quick search suggested the 2825 bulbs have greater illumination than the 168 and 193. The 2825s are readily available; Walmart had them.

This bulb is used in four places in the rear, one in each outboard taillight (in the quarter panel) and one each in each inboard taillight (in the rear hatch).

ODDLY, my RX330 owner's manual says the replacement bulb is a 168 (look for yourself, it's on pg. 612 of my RX330 manual).

The Rear Tail light bulbs for the Reverse lights and some RX 330's Brake light bulbs should be a 921 bulb, Source- Napa online.
Napa # is 921N

The 921 bulb you speak of is for the (clear) back-up lights.

A 921 is a big bulb. The tail lights use smaller, T10-style wedge base bulb.

I just changed mine today with p/n 2825s, which are T10s. The OEM bulbs I removed were the same T10-style, marked "W5W".

I guess I should have asked which bulb!
I just replaced the Reverse Light bulbs on my '05 RX330 and they were 921 bulbs.
