04 RX330 - Help integrating Sat Radio w/Factory Radio

Non Mark Levinson, with factory navigation, no rear seat entertainment. The factory radio does not have the AM-Sat button

I would like to add Sat Radio to her car, as well as IPod integration. I will not install aftermarket as this is for my mother and she is comfortable with the stock radio.

I purchased the Media bridge MB-1500
http://diceelectronics.com/mediabridge-for-lexus.html

Also Sirius Sat Radio module - SCC1

Installed the Media Bridge and IPod is working, but does not go into Sat mode. Played with the dip switches on the Media Bridge and nothing. I've come to the conclusion that it will not work as the factory radio does not have the AM-Sat button.

Can I purchase a factory Lexus radio with the AM-Sat button from a different year model RX330/350, (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/LEXUS...#ht_530wt_941_

and install into the 04 without integration issues with the factory NAV? Where can I find a factory radio that is not outrageously priced such as the ebay auction?

That is a good question.

I was looking at installing the product from VAIS (http://www.vaistech.com/products/home.php) but also want Bluetooth and a capability to hook up a USB flash drive. With the VAIS, I can't.

The bluetooth works great, can also stream music through the bluetooth. The mic picks up well and so far there hasn't been any feedback. As far as I've tested though, in order to accept a call, you have to be using the Mediabridge. Meaning you can't be on FM and then pick up an incoming call. The phone number shows up on the radio as well which is nice. Just can't get Sirius to work, which I believe is because of the factory radio not having Sat compatibility for the emulator.

Please keep this thread going and let us know what you find out. A few weeks ago, I talked with an installer (he is an authorized installer for both VAIS and DICE) and he said he prefers to install the VAIS unit due to problems with the DICE unit. However, the DICE unit offers a lot more features for the money.

I am looking to do something very similar with our RX.

With a non ML RX. You should have gone with the Beatsonic face plate and interface. Installed a Double DIN stereo with all of the bells and whistles already built in.

I would have if it were for me. I found it such a joy to work on my mom's car. I thought it would be a pain but installation panels came off easily, and I really enjoyed the overall experience.

Im sure it was fun to work on. But my point was that with the Beatsonic. You would have an updated Stereo with everything built in. And it would be working.
