Lexus dealers like you mentioned are rare. But still unacceptable. Unfortunate. Time to call the Leuxs 800 number. Is up to us to be heard. Toyota is all ears.

A lot of the problem is that the technicians don't treat the car with respect and the service reps aren't checking the vehicle before I pick it up. Many times I go to pick up my vehicle and I don't even see my rep as he's on break or with another customer or on the phone, etc. As a matter of fact, I don't think he's ever been there when I've actually picked up the car. They usually just pull it out for me, hand me the keys, and send me on my way without any contact from my actual rep. Is this odd or the norm at most dealers?
I'm going to go out on a limb here and suggest that you could benefit from being more assertive with your dealer's service people. There are just some times when you have to go on the offensive to get what you are entitled to. You shouldn't let somebody lead you to your car and expect you to leave the facility if you're unsure the vehicle is right or you don't have what you feel is an adequate explanation. Get the SA to give you time - have him paged or just wait until he's off the phone. Have the discussion you want (but be prepared to lead it). Also be prepared to escalate your situation to the SM or GM if you don't hear what you want. You can work with the national customer service organization and you can also change dealers. This isn't necessarily a last resort but simply a realization that your loyalty isn't getting you anywhere. With every interaction be courteous and professional even if you totally disagree, but be clear and assertive above all. Even Lexus needs an occasional nudge in their relentless pursuit of perfection, eh?

Sorry to hear this. My two cents:
I heard the same story at least twice.
Once my wife told me, that she stuck with ignition core too. And once it was my friend (with his own rx330)
The problem was not in the ignition core, but in the fact, that neither she nor he heard about the steering wheel immobilizer, which is built in the ignition core. So the problem was solved and the core never stucked again.
Maybe you just can't workout the immobilizer?
Anyway, the first thing to do is to change your dealer...

I'm able to get the ignition switch to release when locked by rocking the car forward and back. Does doing this help anyone else with the ignition locking problem? I've described it here:

Just a heads up. Lexus thinks it was the pins in the ignition and it turns out the dealer only replaced the pins(not the ignition core itself) so Lexus is having the dealer replace all the locks and the ignition core and I will get a new set of keys. They also are trying to fix the white dust problem, once again. I got a new service advisor and I am working with both Lexus corporate and the SM of the dealership. I've been driving around in a loaner since before Christmas.
