Hi everyone,
I have a very frustrating problem. My bumper was painted when I purchased my used RX 350. Dealership did a lousy job...but that is another story...
When I picked up the car, it was sticking out a bit. I pointed it out and the dealership told me that is because they took my bumper off....but it has gradually gotten worse. A few days after my complaining, my husband takes a look and notices that we have been clipped on the same corner. (why does this always happen when you get a new car!!)
I am not sure if it was the poor body work (they damaged the corner...stretched it?? warped it?? when they removed the bumper) or it is because I was clipped, or perhaps a combination of both.
I can push it in and after a few days it pops right back out again.
Taking it back to the dealership is not an option...they made a REAL mess before, and the dealership tells me the bumper is perfect. Now that I have been hit on the same spot... (murphy's law!) I am sure they will blame it on that and not their body work.
I noticed a few RX 350's with their bumpers sticking out in this area, maybe this is a weak spot. Any suggestions on how to get this sucker to stay in would be appreciated!! or maybe I just have to accept it and stop looking at it everytime I walk to my car!
Any suggestions would be appreciated! I posted pix of the corner sticking out, and the area I was clipped.
Thanks!

Sorry to hear about your new RX. Sounds like the bumper is not attached/aligned correctly. The cheapest DIY option: Superglue!

The bolt that holds that corner is loose, that's all. Any DIY'er in the household?
I am pretty handy... Do you know where this bolt can be located? I looked underneath and can't see anything.
Thanks.
Thanks.

I will check out mine and let you know. The manual shows how to remove the rear bumper and it shows the bolt (Ithink).

Please see the attached picture, you need to twist the steering wheel to the end of left side then hold the edge of the plastic cover near the bumper(beside of the wheel) then you will see the bolt, light torch are required.
Thank you so much for posting this...unfortunately it is the rear bumper that is sticking out. I should have said that in my earlier posts. My apologies.

Sorry late but here is the bolt you want to check on.

worst case scenario, you can always go to a body shop, tell them it's an out of pocket expense repair, usually the body shop will give you a good discount to paint and fix your problem. I had this similar problem on my other car before ( front bumper ) out of pocket expense to sand and repaint/blend bumper $250.00

But maybe just tightening it will do. I bet you the dealer has stripped it already.
If it does not work:
Replace the nut which is stripped. The nut will need to be accessed from the inside.

Thanks for the information and posting the picture Mandyfig, I will check it out.
Also thanks to everyone else for their advice, much appreciated.
