I'm considering a very new to this forum. I have bought 330 just 20 days ago. My MPG is about 19-20 mpg mixed driving. What I have noticed after the having this car for half a month, it's same problem as I had on GMC Acadia, when I do normal driving, in other words gear went quick enough to 5th gear and I'm cruising, if i have pushed a gas pedal, but not for fast acceleration, it will not switch to lower gear, it will trying to compensate my output on 5th gear, so because of this I think it's hurt MPG, because it takes longer to get desire speed. GMC had done several updates, but really never fixed a problem for 100%. Lexus goes lightly form complete stop, then Acadia, but at cruising speed, it does same as GMC. Lexus/Toyota does know this problem for sure, but will not do anything in order keep city MPG. GM is in other hand, try to correct this problem, even it will hurt MPG in the city driving, because it will hold longer a lower gear.

Argh, I've thought about this a few months back while I was wondering why I get better mileage when I drive my wife's car than when she drives. We'll yesterday was the first time I was the passenger because we were hauling something long & couldn't put the seat back. I happened to remember to look down to find that she is in 4th. Well, now she knows & only took me a year to find this out.

Now would be a good time to change out that tranny fluid. I `m sure it saw some extra heat from that.

I did a change last year but you're right, it's probably a good idea to do it again since we can only get ~ 4 quarts out.

I get almost five quarts out of mine. 4.75 is more about right. I switched to the Wolf`s Head universal full Synthetic, and the shifts are better than on the Amsoil. (AND WHEN ITS COLD,IT FEELS LIKE A SHIFT KIT IS IN IT!) I hate those sloppy Lexus shifts, but when I dropped the pan last weekend,no abnormal wear was in their. (BTW,it had a felt filter, not a screen) And of course no dealer had it in stock,so I took a paper towel and dabbed it a little. Saw no dirt,so I put it back together.

I know the computer isn't accurate but it has been consistent. The mileage displayed went from 17.4 average to 20.3 since the wife is no longer driving in 4th gear.

My wife did the same thing on the test drive. Was doing 70ish on the interstate and I thought it was too loud, looked over and saw the rpm's up and then realized we were in 4th.

Manual calculation for my RX350 is always lower than the trip computer. I am between 19-20 mpg for 80% highway and 20% city. I found it manageable for this kind of vehicle. If you need better MPG, get the hybrid version.

I'm just drove 200 miles, 23.7 mpg at avg 63 mph, that is pretty good.
I did cleaned MAF sensor, I 'm using chevron cleaner each two month and used Chevron 89 fuel for this trip.

Apparently I need to clean my MAF sensor because I'm getting around 16 - 16.7 MPG - pretty much all city driving - using Shell mid-grade.

Yeah, you should be getting more than that. I am using the Shell 89 octane as well and I get around 19-19.5. Make sure you only use a MAF cleaner on that thing.CRC products makes it. I get it @ Auto-Zone.
