No tranny problems; kept up with recommended maintenance. Hoping for 200K. Love this car!

1999 and 2005 RX with mileage listed below, no trans issues on either one, though mileage is not that high. Both still look and run like new.

198k miles on 2004 RX330 AWD I bought used last year. Tranny sometimes slips between 3rd and 4 th gear. Not sure if this is a software issue or if tranny is starting to go out. software was updated around 100k. Don't want to fix this until it goes out completely. Losing 1/4 quart of oil between changes.

Mine will do that also. More lie a stutter than a slip. I was thinking it has something to do with the torque converter possibly. It doesn't happen very often. Maybe a couple times per week. It also never happens when I get on it a little. Its only when I am accelerating "normally".

2004 Rx330 with 134,000 miles and the tranny shifts fine although I get the jerk that everyone else gets. Just recently flushed all the recommended fluids and it runs like a champ.

Thanks for your input. You described it more accurately. This is exactly what I am experiencing, a stutter few times a week under normal acceleration, between 35-40 mph

If you try to accelerate at just the wrong rpms , it will hit you with a jerk. It's annoying as hell.

There is a thread in the gs forums about similar problems. Fixes ranged from replacing fluids, trans, and diff. To dirty injectors, to bad ECU. Im planning on dropping the pan and doing a fluid change in the next few weeks. Until then, I'm going to run some injector cleaner with my next fill up and see what happens.

I have a FWD Rx330 so there is no differential. I've already flushed all the fluids and done ALL the maintenance on it and it still has had no effect on the jerk shifting that occurs if you catch it at the wrong RPM's. ECU was reflashed at Lexus as well to no avail. I guess its something these models have for those years. Let us know what it looks like after you drop the pan.

1999 RX300 AWD just turned 282,000 , it has had the pan pulled 3 or 4 times just to clean and install extra magnets. Flush never performed, always just drain and fill. Trans cooler lines replaced with non lexus parts about two years ago due to corrosion steel braided hoses and hand bent stainless tubing. I also added an external filter which catches all the nasty stuff that the pan magnets don't. Always used Mobile 3309 ATF without any problems at the first fluid change at 30K miles.

Default 191K on 2005 RX330 AWD

Transmission never touched. Dealer says don't touch it until it dies. Occasionally have a jerk or slow shift.

2007 RX350 has 135K, transfer at 60K and 90K.. was stuck in 4th gear yesterday, finally went into 5th gear.. having my Mechanic check it out tomorrow..
Orig Owner, at about 100K, the key started sticking, cant turn ignition, happens often now (twice a week), transmission slips once every few months...

Hopefully it's an easy fix as I still love this car

Try some graphite on the key, might solve that one. On the 4th gear prob be sure you or your passenger haven't knocked the shifter over to the fourth gear position, easier to do than you might imagine.
