Anyone know? Seems silly but these are black. Not gray or green. I don't get it.

It comes as one unit (glass and plastic piece all together) .... I am guessing the green or grey is the window tint color.

Seems a sensible assumption.

Well I just ordered the Dark Grey LH for a total of $148 with shipping. I guess I will find out how easy it is to take off the plastic piece

I just got the part today. Looks pretty snug. I am gonna have to look at it more to see how and if at all I can take that piece off without breaking it. lol darn OEM! Hehe. I will let you guys know. Might even be willing to open up the pillars to see what's there and if I can install the entire part myself.

Just an update. I finally stopped staring at the part over on the table from my desk After about 10min of careful but force full work I got the part off. It's quite easy to brake if your not careful but the only thing holding the plastic to the rubber are three very small and weak washers and regular OEM 3M Tape.

Now that it's off I am going to the store now to buy some silicone Should have pics of the finished install Wednesday.

Ok an update: I need to find out what will be the best silicone or maybe an extra strong 3M or both to use. The guy at the store said I should prob. find out before I do this cause some silicone based adhesives might be too hard for rubber that will prob, expand and contract thus coming loose from the rubber over time

I really have a feeling that strong 3M will be the best with plastic on one side and rubber on the other. On top of this I will use the silicone adhesive with the holes that use the inserts where the washers were.

Here are pics so it makes more sense:

Example of the parts that go into the holes in the rubber that surrounds the glass.

There are three points but why post all pics.

Looking at everything I am thinking they made some minor design changes from my 2005. I wonder if there was ever even 3M on mine and the holes are bigger/ wider at some points.

Wondering if a Permatex Black Silicone Adhesive Sealant (81158) might work for this application?
