Default Synthectic Oil?

I was wondering if it is ok and worth it to start using synthectic oil in my 04 rx 330? To the best of my knowledge all the rx has ever had is conventional oil. Is it ok to start using synthectic oil 6 years later?

Yep,it`ll be fine.I went from conventional,to synthetic, and back to conventional again.Mostly because my engine is smoother on the Pennzoil conventional oil.(but it had more of a kick on the Synthetic) Lets put it this way, your RX will be way worn out before the motor goes bad even on conventional oil.

I use Pennzoil Platinum in my 04 RX330 and in my 1991 Toyota MR2. Both run just fine.

I fly corporate jets that use synthetic oil. We have mechanics in our flight department in addition to mechanics in the OEM service centers and they are all very careful with this oil. They wear protective gloves and eye protection any time they are exposed to it. Just a warning.

Well, I just purchased 5w30 Mobil 1 5qt container from Walmart for a very good price of $22.00 and will start using the Synthetic. I will probabaly use synthetic in my es300 and truck as well. Who knows, I may even start to use synthetic oil in the boat! I have to say that I have never heard of the hazards of handling synthetic before, but I will be careful. Working on engines, snowmbiles, boats, lawn & garden for a living I would have to assume I have been exposed to hazardous chemicals before? Thanks for all of your input.

You would be carefull with any HOT liquid as it can cause burns to your hands or any other place it comes in contact on you. Companies put those warnings on for just about any reason now days because people are plan sue happy. McDonalds coffee comes to mind, who didn't realize coffee was hot but why not play stupid & sue because coffee is HOT. Companies want to protect themselves against these crazy lawsuits.

Are you referring to the actual HOT temp of the oil as it is draining from the engine, or is there still some other hazard if the synthectic oil makes contact with your skin vs. conventional oil making contact with your skin. Lets be honest, unless everyone where gloves when changing their motor oil, oil will be on your fingers. Is this the hazard being referred to?
Thanks for your input.

The concern is carcinogens into the blood stream.
