A soft suspension on bad roads would be constantly bottoming out and eventually breaking components.

G'day

You haven't driven in Sydney! I've had to replace the suspension in every vehicle I've had since I moved here (except the 2 RX's). Sports suspensions bottom out more often than soft suspensions.

Slightly softer springs will only rebound more and if properly setup, will provide a good balance of ride comfort and handling. Remember, shock absorbers don't actually absorb shocks, they basically just dampen the spring rebound (that's why they are called Dampers outside of the US and Australia)

Just curious why you think Lexus is not a luxury brand but BMW or MERCEDES are. You certainly saw fit to purchase a RX450h, when at the time the RX450h came out the Highlander hybrid was already available. Could it have been that you wanted the LUXURY look that many purchase the chrome "L" brand for?

Lexus goes to great measured to manufacture and market their vehicles as luxury cars. If you suggesting Lexus does in fact make luxury cars, just not the entry level suv, the RX. Then I guess BENZ is only a luxury car if considering the "e classe" or greater, or the 5 series or greater?

I'm confused, as someone else commented previously these forums should serve to form a strong sense of community and to help those with queries on the brand along with a a method of generating positive feedback with other fellow owners. If your not happy with the brand, sell it and move on to another forum. I too have had a negative track record with the lexus family, however, still to this day feel it's not indicative of the brand's overall quality but an isolated incident. We all know that as far as reliability is concerned, some of the "luxury" brands previously had and continue to have their share of quirks.

Just venting and still scratching my head as why someone would log onto a luxury car forum and critize the interpretation of the quality of the brand by any particular individual. I'm sure even if I critized Ford on this forum, there would be someone who would stick up for it, therefore you can't be surprised that I'm sticking up for Lexus on a Lexus forum.

But hey you're entitled to your opinion and I mine.

I like my Lexus, but the person does have a point although Lexus is a luxury brand it doesn't hold the cachet of BMW or Mercedes. I have a RX330 which costs more and has more features then my sisters Kmart Benz C240 which does not even have full power seats. It does have a power rear sunshade!!! Anyways, when ever I drive the C Class benz I get way more complements about it. One of my teachers even joked "Moving up in the world. Huh? Not driving the Jeep" I laughed it was my teacher what could I say, but anyways in my head I was thinking its not a Jeep its Lexus...

Lexus also doesn't spend anywhere near the amount of money that German Chevy and MB do on advertising and brand position.

Remember, BMW and MB are used as taxi's in Germany.

Default Handling and ride of a RX350

I agree with the posts that basicly say quite whining or sell it.

Eibach has a set of spring for the RX that will lower it about 1.2 inches front and rear. You really can't tell the difference in the ride until you go into a corner then you notice a real improvement. A tire and wheel upgrade would also make a real change for the better. You can have your great ride and a little cornering composer for those of us who enjoy that as well. A Honda CR-V hit my RX300 head on or I still would have it and it's upgrades. I now have an RX350 that will be getting the same changes.

I truely enjoy my ride.
Later,
Azul
