Default 2004 RX330 Amp Went Out

The amp on my RX330 no longer works. Do you guys have any replacement suggestions? Should I look for an OEM amp or should I go after market?

I really just want to swap out the old one with something new.

I'm new here, so sorry if this has already been posted.

this is probably not something that goes out often... but while you're at it might as well go for aftermarket since oem will be hard to find used.

would an aftermarket one be easy to swap out? would i have to get a converter or something so it works with the oem stereo?

I have lost my audio in my '04 RX and was wondering what your problem presented when your amp died? I seem to be the only one who has had their complete system go blank without warning. I have the base system nothing special like nav. . I apologize if I am intruding here but I am desperate for some answers. I have checked all of the fuses ( 1 under hood and one under dash) and they test ok. If you have any idea please letme know. Thanks

I believe you will need at least an 8 channel amp, at this point if your keeping the stock radio, I'd just get another stock amp as you may have to add a x-over as well as I'm not sure if this system uses a passive cross over or active within the amp. I myself have used an aftermarket amp with the stock speakers, but I also used an aftermarket head unit. Of course, I no longer have this car so I can't go into any specific details, but that is just some of the things I remember when doing my system.

Must be related to 07 RX330 in Illinois! I live in the West Chicago Burbs and mine is doing the same. Only speaker output I have left is Drivers front floor. I guess the amp is located behind the right rear passenger seat. I haven't got mine out yet ........must be a short because when the cars cold all speakers work for a brief while. Any updates out there??

Well, the obvious comment is to check the fuses and to remove/reinstall the multipin connectors on the amp. It might just start up again.

Now thats an amp going out for sure. I had an old Kenwood 5CH that would go bad when the amp heats up a bit.

All of you guys may want to hit up your local stereo shop and see if anyone in your area fixes amps.

I don't know but when I installed a new Kenwood stereo I bypassed the amp.
It's not very loud but I plan on tearing out the old amp and replacing it with something new.

If it is truly the amp that died, ebay has used ones for under $130.00. Simple and easy, but not total replacement to something newer and better.
