1. Go to AutoZone and have the code read for free and let me know what the code is so I can tell you what to do.

2. Either pull the negative battery cable off (make sure you have the key out of the ignition) or pull the EFI fuse located in your fusebox in your engine bay (also with the key out of the ignition), see https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...8&postcount=15

Number 2 should reset the light assuming there is nothing permanently wrong in your system. Inevitably this error is usually the P0171 lean air code.

Driving on a P0171 is okay if you don't feel anything else acting up.
This is a great forum. My search turned up the solution to the lights on my dash. I had cancelled a trip out of town because of the lights not going away. (I was forced to drive my Corvette instead, lol.) Upon my return I followed the steps in these posts and lights went away instantly (seems the gas cap was the culprit). Special thanks to Lexmex.

LexMex - you had a post a while back where you listed off a bunch of the common CEL codes and what they generally implied. It was very helpfull and I can't for the life of me find it now - do you mind linking it or reposting it here?

Thanks!

I don't remember one in general like that. I usually do it based on what the code someone brings up and then list the possibilities. If you have a particular code in mind, let me know.

I just had the same scenario and after checking it out at Lexus.... I found that I had one of the hoses to the air cleaner disconnected. The dealer said it was done by the last person who changed the oil..(and that could be true) ...a non-Lexus person), but I think they were just spewing...nah, nah, nah, an-da nah..

Sorry for the delayed response. I have four codes poping up at the minute:

P0500 Vehicle Speed sensor A
P0125 Engine temperature insufficient
P1155 Engine Air metering
P1150 Engine Air metering

Any insight on these? Both manifold O2 sensors are new and I recently put a new MAF on. I'm not sure why the 1155 and 1150 are still poping up.

Bank 2 a/f sensor near radiator is likely culprit for 1155, 1150 and may play into others.

Also did you replace sensors with Bosch or OE Denso sensors...Many have had problems with Bosch sensors on this engine.

The Vehicle Speed Sensor would be the one I am focus on. P0125 often comes on with other codes. If I had my computer with me, I'd hookup and see what the readings are coming off both a/f sensor banks, that P0500 is a rare code. I think what a few have done here is clean those sensors and often switch them. Have you gotten that P0500 before at any time?

Thanks.

I just replaced Bank 2, Sensor 1 yesterday. I may reset the ECU to see if that will clear the 1150 and 1155. Both O2 sensor replacements were OE Densos.

I've never got the P0500 before and was really hoping it had something to do with the bad O2 sensor.

I'll keep you updated with which codes pop up first after I reset.

Alright, so my mechanic tells me that the O2 sensor (Bank 2, Sensor 1 - which I thought he replaced Sunday) is actually specific to California emissions and costs nearly $300. This, versus the $89 he origially quoted the part at. Does this make any sense?

What type of sensor was used, the Denso 234-9009?

Yes, that’s it. I actually sent my mechanic the link Weinkaufjr posted above. He is going to purchase it there and replace Bank 2, Sensor 1 for $150 total (part and labor). I'm pretty happy with the outcome - hopefully the old sensor comes out without a problem.

Still need to figure out the other two codes though:
P0500 Vehicle Speed sensor A
P0125 Engine temperature insufficient

I may take it to Toyota or Lexus and see what they say. Open to any suggestions if ether of these look familiar.

DZELL81, Does your RX run poorly with these lights on ? Have you lost noticeable performance ? Has your gas mileage dropped significantly?
