Invest in a workshop manual ... Volume 2 ($100 +) from the dealer or at times offered on the 'bay. Toyota also offers online look-up service for a fee ($10 a day ... if you have time and energy, I heard you can download the whole manual in a day ... unproven)

I have seen mention of a pdf floating around (cant say how good or bad it is ... other than the fact that the shop manual by Lexus is great).

My own experience working on a transverse mounted engine is that the acesssability is severely limited ... specially if you have large hands.

Tips have been shared (search can collect them) but no DIY has been posted.

For what it's worth, the Haynes manual isn't bad, but I'm sure it's not as good as the factory service manual. What Z3 did you change the t-belt on? I'm quite sure both the four and six cylinder models have timing chains rather than belts. I've changed t-belts on Acuras (similar front drive arrangement) and have found the access tight but manageable. If you've done it before, you should be able to handle it on the Lexus. How many miles do you have?
