Default Rear Hatch

I had a RX300 before. And have driven 330s when I had warranty work done. I thought I knew most of the new items.

I bought my 350 at the Lexus dealer in Riverside. Not a bad place. Its not a JM Lexus In Coral Springs. Thats where I got my CPO RX300.

Curl up in front of the stereo with some nice music and read the Owner's Manual. Lots of good info in there that wasn't described by our very thorough saleman.

For instance, hold the unlock button down and ALL of the windows open. Didn't know that until my wife informed me after reading the manual cover to cover. Yep, she did! This is the first time she has done that in 34 years.

I know about the button opening all the windows. But for the life of me, I can't think of any reason to open all your windows at once.
I mean, there you are, standing next to your car, why not open the door, then perhaps a window or 2 from the armrest. What am I missing here?

As you walk toward your car out in a sweltering parking lot, press and hold the unlock button to lower the windows (and moonroof). By the time you have put your coat and briefcase in the back seat, or the groceries in the boot, the air temp in the cabin has dropped by as much as 40 degrees - and that's before your start the engine.

You're more comfortable and the AC has an easier hill to climb with that initial heat load vented to the outside before you get behind the wheel. Nice feature!

I love using this neat feature. Gets the hot air pronto! Try to be in Atlanta....it was 95 before the heat index. Normal for this time of year, 88!

Default Rear Hatch

I was playing with the rear seats. Trying to figure out how they recline. And found something else.

There is a seat belt holder inside the rear seats. On the door side. Tucked up underneath the leather. Close to the top of the seat. There is a small black clip that pulls out. It holds the seat belt.

Oh, yes, I forgot about that! It is some sort of a clip with a rope. Tucked in the side of the seat.

OK,
After I posted I thought some more about it and came to the conclusion that heat dissapation would be the only reason, like a couple of you said. It was harder for me to get there because I almost never lower the windows of a car. Here it's plenty hot, triple digits for 2.5 months every summer, but still I just open the drivers door and passenger window temporarily, maybe wait a couple seconds, that's enough for me.
