Can you back up your statement that the invoice is lowered too? One poster indicated otherwise, having been told that only the MSRP is lowered and this was one of my questions too.
They do have to pay invoice upfront but there is about $2,000 of money held back on an RX. So invoice price is really not invoice there is always money held back on the RX it's about $2,000. Now on the cars that where in stock Lexus will give the dealer more in the money back when they sell the car. For example if there was $2,000 held back they would now get $2,900 back when they sell that truck. But I can tell you the new trucks that have arrived have the invoice pushed back.

For my area, here is the Premium Plus Package Luxury Value Edition with additional options, priced at $6188: (for $3538, you seem to get the same options without the Nav): Total MSRP is $45,683

Premium Plus Package - Luxury Value Edition includes:
- Leather-trimmed interior
- Power tilt-and-telescopic steering column with memory
- Illuminated entry system
- Power tilt-and-slide moonroof with one-touch open/close and sliding sunshade

Additional Options:
- Lexus voice-activated DVD Navigation System (includes backup camera and Bluetooth® technology)
- Two-level heated front seats (includes rain-sensing variable intermittent wipers and headlamp washers)
- 18-in alloy wheels (235/55VR18 and full-size spare)
- Towing prep package
- Cargo mat
- Wheel locks

Comparing this to my vehicle, priced on 7/9/06 at MSRP of $46,583 on the website and basically matching the built vehicle that I bought from the lot, I noticed the following is missing:

Roof rack - even the picture on the above built vehicle does not have any roof rack.
HID Headlamps with adaptive front lighting system

If this is true, the roof rack I consider an integral part of an SUV, the HID lights were very high on our list of what we wanted, and the adaptive lighting was also preferred. If these new vehicles are coming in without these items, I might have rethought the RX. It seems like they are either nerfing the RX to push the price down, or perhaps there is some HID/adaptive lighting supply issue.

I'd appreciate comments from others.

SilverLady, I can't comment on what are the actual specs on the new RX350's, but I agree with you that the roof rack is essential on an SUV, and the adaptive lights are definitely nice to have.

I would be very disappointed if Lexus really has started decontenting like this.

Both the roof rack and the self adjusting HID lights are included in the Prem Plus Package Value Edition for NorthWest Region cars. Just go the lexus website and plug in a NW zipcode. Dunno about cars for other regions though.

Anyway, to repeat my earlier point, the $900 reduction (at least in my neck of the woods) is a pure discount, and not due to discontenting

When I try this with my zip code (Metro DC), I get the same MSRP as mine which was delivered in early June. Perhaps this is a regional promotion.

Exclamation

They are NOT including the Adaptive Front Headlights in the Premium Plus - Luxury Value addtiion, hence the $900 lower price so it is $43,033. When you build it on their website, it does not show these vehicles with the AFS headlights!! Everything else stays the same. If you closely look at those RX commericals with the $449/lease, they show a vehicle WITHOUT those HID's. That is what is happening here. Same $ down, higher monthly lease payment, lower MSRP compared to the vehicles advertised before the July 5th expiration date of the offer!!

I went to the Lexus website and randomly plugged in a Seattle, Washington zip code. It came back with the exact same configuration and price as the one in my area.

Still no HIDs or roof rack. Where are you looking??

I'm not sure where you all have been looking at, but this is what I still see as of this morning (July 20) on this web page: http://lexus.com/models/rx/price_options.html

Premium Plus Package - Luxury Value Edition - $2,060 [2]

- Leather-trimmed interior
- Power tilt-and-telescopic steering column with memory
- Lexus Memory System to control power driver’s seat (except lumbar), outside mirrors and steering wheel
- Illuminated entry system
- Power tilt-and-slide moonroof with one-touch open/close and sliding sunshade
- Adaptive Front Lighting System (AFS)
- High-Intensity Discharge (HID) headlamps with dynamic auto-leveling
- Roof rails/roof rack
(Total MSRP value of options $2,960 [2])

As you can see, the AFS/HID and Roof rails/roof rack are still there. You don't have to plug in a zipcode in order to see the prices — just click on "RX" on the home page, again "RX" on the next page, and then "Price/Options" and you'll see all the packages.

I'm not quite sure why they list these packages (and why they have so many different ones with the same names) as AFAIKT nobody seems to offer it.

To get my current vehicle in this scenario at MSRP:
Base Price AWD : $39495
B Prem Plus above: 2060
Nav System 2650
Heated Seat/lampwash/W 665
Tow Prep 160
18" Alum wheels 495
Del/Proc Fee 695

Total MSRP at new "discount of $900" price = $46220
My total window sticker MSRP price was $46425 (minus the dealer cargo mat and wheel locks).

So what happened to most of the $900? My guess is that the difference is because my base MSRP for the vehicle was $38,800, instead of the new price of $39495! It looks like base MSRP went up, but they make the packages appear to have a discount. Base MSRP is up $695, but all packages are down by $900 - an apparent savings of $205 unless I have missed something.

I find all this talk over a measly $900 for a $45,000 vehicle funny.

Actually, if you read the footnotes, the $39,495 "MSRP includes delivery, processing and handling fee. Excludes taxes, title, license and optional equipment." So there's NO increase at all!

You are correct. All of the other builds have the MSRP base price without the delivery, etc. fee and add it later, so I assumed this one would too.

I'm going to try to forget about the whole thing and just try to enjoy the RX.

LexArazzo's information was totally correct. AFS HID's are still included!! I was at my local Lexus dealer and yes, they lowered, the price on the $43,933 to $43,033 so it is $900 less for the vehicle. ALL new revised window stickers reflecting this were affixed to the vehicle as a result, and the stickers with the old pricing were removed.

With regard to their lease offer, in speaking to the dealer, the money factor went up to .00175, and the residual went down--so you will be paying more about $20 more per month with their TMCC lease. Also, they are requiring $3549 down, which is $20 more than last month.

I doubt it. Lexus Canada has fixed price ... MSRP! Go south and buy in the US. There will be enough left to enjoy a very good vacation.
