Default Thundercloud grille?

Hey rx owners,

I have finally decided to get the thudercloud grille for my rx. Does anyone know where the best place to buy one is? any discount codes for CL? Installation instructions? thanks,

sh

there was a group buy a year ago with Carson. it was $299 instead of $329. i know local dealers sell them also, but not for $329...

the install is very easy. i think all it is is 5 10mm bolts and a tension clip. take those off and pop the old one out, and then remove the emblem on the old one with standard screwdriver and then place it on the TC grille. then put the clip and bolts back in and you're done.

Or, just find and buy a TC, in Thundercloud Metallic, that way you get the grill and an unusual color too...

I got mine from the Carson through their web page.

Installation is very easy: 5 bolts hold the grill in place. The whole replacement takes about 10 minutes, 15 if you go really slow. Just look inside your hood at the 5 bolts and you will see how easy and accessible everything is.

Also, you have to remove the Lexus badge from the center of your old grill and screw it onto the new one. There is one Phillips head screw that holds it in place (plus a plastic pin for location).

Couldn't be easier. In 30 minutes I could train a chimp to do it.

It's a nice look on this car, although I did it mostly to match my SC's grill.

Thanks for the info. its $329.00 tho. my friend told me he got his for $250.00!! i cant seem to find any for that much. You guys dont have any discount code or something?

I must admit this TD grille really does make it look a lot better than the jeep-like grille that comes standard, but for $329?? I'm gonna look around for a bit and most likely just place my order at Carsons.

Or, just find and buy a TC, in Thundercloud Metallic, that way you get the grill and an unusual color too...
lol yeahh but the thing is i only like the grille on the TD edition. IMO black rx looks the best, and the standard rims are better looking too.

I suggest you call and order it on the phone.

I tried to place my order via the web page, and they were having trouble with the web pages at that time and the order never got "placed." I called a few days later to check, and they were very helpful, took my order on the phone, and I think it took less than a week to arrive. It's not heavy, nor is it a very large package, so it's not a big shipping issue.

Allow 15 minutes for installation -- 20 if you go real slow.

Piece of cake.
