Without the ML Audio package, can a 2009 350 play DVDs somehow? Is there a mod? I haven't tried one yet...

EDIT - ANSWER - I think the answer is NO - it can't play video DVD with any modification or otherwise - short of replacing the entire unit.

The 2008 GX without RSES can play dvds on the nav screen if the parking brake is engaged, I don't see why the RX would be any different.

You can only do that with the in-dash DVD player which came with the ML audio system.
The DVD reader in the trunk is strictly for the nav disk.
