Default 400h Offroading

sucks.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR 400h offroading. I learned the hard way and i got stuck.

It's a very nice car for all weather driving and i guess maybe dirt roads, but anything more than that....

STUCK.

Check out your owner's manual ... I think it would probably tell you NOT to off road with the 400h ... I know it's not made to run in sand very well with the electric motors as well ... you may have done some damage to the hybrid system??

Stuck? Don't feel bad, I got a new 4WD Suburban stuck in a pasture and had to have a guy with a little old rustbucket - a 4WD Datsun puckup - pull my big macho carcass out. Yes, there was an audience.

That's when I discovered the guy who rebuilt my automatic locking hubs assembled the locking dogs backward, reducing the vehicle to 2WD . . . . 1WD if you consider the lack of an LSD. Fixed both problems within a week.

yea the RX is car based, meaning it's not made for off-roading. i remember that in my RX300 manual it says ( not recommended for off-roading) or something like that .

RX400h manual doesn't

===========================================
RX400h and off-roading
Pros: many HP, high clearance, good "angle-of-attack" of bumpers, short base
Cons: no VSC-off button (it could eliminate all Pros above in 1 sec while off-roading), not a real 4WD, highway tires

Wow, really should of known better.....Leave the rx at home & take the sandrail powered by a twin turbo'd LS/Hemi/Northstar...

If you wanna go off-road, you may consider the 4Runner or FJ Cruiser. Further, the hybrid electric motors are really bad for off-roading.
