Is the location the same as of the 400H?
Thanks for sharing.

07 is using filter element: you have to get the housing out and change the filter element

I wish the 350 used the spin-on can, not the filter-element-only system.

it is far easier to come in from the top if the engine is WARM. wear latex gloves for grip and get both hands on the filter so it can be loosened without a filter wrench. be careful when removing and spillage will be minimal. the RX330 is easier than the 300....slightly more room

Thought this would be fertile ground for a How-To Tuesday topic too...

I did this today for the first time and came in from the top after removing the heat shield. Be aware that the oil filter is right under the front 3 exhaust pipes. So watch out if they are hot! Also, your hands are at a disadvantage for leverage, and being lefthanded might be a benefit. I found it necessary to reach in with my left hand on one side of the pipes and my right hand coming in from the right side under the pipes. Tightening the new filter is also challenging for the same reasons.

Having changed the oil and filter on my other cars, this one rates as a more complicated than necessary to me. The funnel under the filter is great. But removing 4 screws and the panel to access the drain plug was a little extra work.

Then comes the filter. Coming in from the top is good, but there is very little room. And 2 screws with one nut to remove the heat shield means really thinking ahead about a few things. Like do you want really warm oil that will flow faster? Then you better be really careful not to be burned on the shield or the pipes. The first alternative is to remove the panel below, which means many more screws. The second alternative is to not warm up the engine as much, which might mean a longer time to wait for the oil to drip out. The third is to warm up the engine but then wait for the exhaust to cool down, but then the oil cools as well.

Overall, I'm glad I did it, but it makes every 5000 miles seem like too soon.
