Default Ordered RX330

Well I ordered my Rx330 today, I went with Breakwater Blue with a Luxury Package. This vehicle will not be built until at least March 15th, my question is, does anyone think I will have the window or dash rattle's that everyone is talking about? I am guessing that they must have this problem fixed at the factory level if they have tsb's out for these problems.....any opinions.

Sorry...but I have to say.....make sure is Made in Japan rather than Canada. Looks like the Canadian built ones have lots of problems......

Yeah ... my dealer specifically said he was "glad my car was from Japan" when they located it for me. Really made me wonder!

The 05 I bought the last day of December is from Japan, and does not have those problems.

I am located in canada and the only choice I have is the ones that are built here. Makes me wonder what to do.

Not so. You can always insist on getting one from Japan. Maybe a long wait but well worth it.

More than 10 years ago, my sister insisted on getting a Honda Civic from Japan, not from Ohio. She had to wait two months, but that car was flawless for over 7 years.

My '05 RX 330, built in Canada in December, does not have the dash or window rattles. The '04 that I traded built in Canada in late '03 did have the dash rattles.

Knock on wood, the only noise I've experienced so far was a slight knocking that sounded like something hitting hollow plastic, and sounded like it was coming from the rear of the vehicle. It turns out it was from the front, and it was the right strut binding. The dealer replaced the right strut sub-assembly, did an alignment, and all is well.

I have a Canadian built 330 and have no complaints, I've driven the Japan ones as service loaners and they are the same....

Default You are very lucky to get it so fast

We order ours at the end of October. An rx330 in black forest pearl with ivory interior and Navigation System/Mark Levinson package without the rses system. So you can see they had to build it just for us. NO dealers would order one like this for his floor. The only things I wish Lexus would have let us pick out extra Would have been what type of OEM tire to place on this car.
Our car is on the boat that will hit Los Angeles today ? and then two more weeks before it gets
to New Orleans.

You sure have a lot of different option choices than I did. I went to lexus.com and built one online there and the choices are quite different. Yes I as well would like to pick the tire type, I am getting quite excited should be only a few short weeks and I should have it.

unfortunately, my '05 330 was built in canada in late october '04, and i inherited the famous dash rattle 2 months later.

fortunately, the rattle is not big enough to cause much concern, esp when i turn up the sound system.

realistically, with the big honker tires on this vehicle and the crappy roads in north carolina, i expect some stuff to shake loose from time to time.

however, this is my first lexus to have any rattle at all. after owning two Coupes (alas, please sell them both back to me, please???) and a GS, i have been thoroughly spoiled by the lack of NVH (noise/vibration/harshness) so accepted in detroit vehicles. so at some point i may get finicky and ask the dealer to fix the rattle, even if it means dismembering the dash. i fear such disassembly may cause other probs, but hey, i paid a premium to get here, and a dash rattle ain't acceptable*.

*hmm, tell that to a Suburban owner and he'll think you're nuts.

finally, i still sure do luv this RX!

Well I had a real surprise when I went to the dealer today. Because I ordered a Luxury Package on my RX330 it will be made in Japan and not in Ontario. He said they are only making the premium and ultra premium at the ontario factory. I do have to wait a while longer but this did make me very happy. I should see it by the end of march or first part of april.

Default that is still fast

just got this emaill today
"Just checked inventory and scheduled arrival window for your car is 2/23 - 2/28. Will have a better idea of exact date after 2/21, and will follow up with you at that time. You wanted the bamboo / ivory right?

Paul C. Gorney
Internet Sales Manager

Lexus of New Orleans"

My wife will not find anything funny about the wrong color for HER care in this email so the old boy will be on his on when we go to pick the car up.

that joke will not go over very well with her . she been like a two year old for the last two months
on how much longer for this car.
But the car was ordered at the end of October so it can take a long time to get one here.
don't get your hope up until they give you the arrival window time line.

Hey thanks for the info, that really sucks about the long wait. i have confirmation that mine is being built on March 23. We were able to take one that had been ordered by another dealer, they must have owed him a favour. 2-3 weeks from then I am suposed to have it , but I won't hold my breath. I can continue to drive my Murano until it arrives so I am not without a vehicle.
