Default Gas consumption in 2004-5 AWD RX330

Hi there,

I wonder you much gas consumption on average to you guys have? I have a brand new 2005 AWD RX330 and find out I only have about 13.5 mpg? Is it normal? Or will it improve after the break in period? Thanks.

Unhappy

SHE drives the RX most of the time. Averages around 16pmg around town (more suburban than urban). If you are pretty much driving "stop and go" you'll see a little better but not much...........

I get about 15 to 17 mpg in town which is a mix of freeway and surface streets. I just took a trip to Seattle Washington and I averaged about 22 to 23mpg. When I first bought my car the milage was a lot lower. Now I have about 7k on her and I'm satisfied with the mpg.

I also think that the car does better on the lower octane gas the premium. I use the mid grader Chevron gas in the car.

I hope this helps

My 04 RX330 AWD gets 20-22 in suburban driving and 24-26 on the freeway at steady 75 MPH on premium fuel. I do little city driving. So yes, I think you should be getting better fuel mileage unless you are a lead foot and do all city rush hour driving.

I have @ 2000 miles on my 05 AWD RX. To date I have an average of 19.6 MPG with a combination of both city and highway driving.

Cool

The upcomig RX400h hybrid is suppose to get at or near the 30+ MPG range.....pretty much that of a regular mid-size car.

I am getting only 13.5 mpg is it because my car is pretty new (I only have < 150 miles on it so far)

First tank -- sitting at 14.6 mpg right now ... has been some idling though b/c of the cold

Is it true it resets the economy on its own? It senses when you fill up or something?

We have an '04 AWD RX330 with 13,000 miles on it and we get 16.5 mpg overall. On long highway trips we get 21mpg.

I think it all depends on the kind of gas you use. I would think using Premium Unleaded you will get better mileage. Lexus told me to use Premium.

I have a 2005 4 wheel drive RX330. I have about 1000 miles on it.

I'm getting less than 15mpg on my car. I use Chevron 91 Premium gas.
Mostly city driving.

On the sales sticker when I purchased the car, it said 18mpg avg. I wonder if that takes into account the 4wheel drive.

Since the 4wheel drive is ALWAYS on, it sucks up more gas.

Are you guys saying that the mileage will get better after more use? Why is that?

Yes, the computer does sense when you fill up. If you just put in a few gallons, it may not notice. Once I put in just 2.5 gallons in Aspen, the computer didn't know it and kept counting the miles. (Gas in Aspen is a whopping 50 cents per gallon higher than my neighborhood's, so I only put in enough to get home.)
