Default RX 330 Rear Wiper

My rear wiper does not seem to do a very good job. Dealer replaced the blade but I still get about a 2-inch streak across the top of blade sweep and another more narrow streak near the bottom. Seems to me that the arm is not putting enough pressure on the blade, but I am reluctant to try brnding it. Anyone else had this problem?

I have the exact same problem. I have only 800 miles on mine so have not done anything about it yet.

Same problem with mine. Dealer said they can't bend the wipper. I am going to ask to replace it next time when I go to see the dealer.

Thanks to all who responded. Obviously I am not alone with this problem. I am going to be more agressive with my dealer in trying to get this problem fixed. The problem is especially frustrating in our wintry conditions here in New Hampshire. On the upside, the RX 330 is awesome in snow.

Talking

On my 99, it seemed to EAT wipers. They'd start to chatter within 3 months of replacement plus the resultant streaking. I switched to PIAA SuperSilicones and never heard another sound in the subsequent 2 years. I also put one on the back.

Also, RainX'd all the side windows as well as back glass; the PIAAs have a prep wipe that smells just like RainX and so was prepared to re-treat the front if and when it became necessary (but it never did).

Haven't done the 330 yet, but so far its wipers have not exhibited such anti-Lexus behavior.

(Others favor the Bosch blades but I've not tried those and so can't compare...........)

Default Rear wiper

Took a look at my rear wiper -- as it sucks (RX330). It seems like you can pick it up with a feather. The arm exerts no presure what so ever on the blade. It's as though there is a spring missing but I doubt this.
Will talk to them at the 5000 mile oil change.

Default Wiper not wiping

I lubricated the hinge of the wiper (at the point where it pivets off the window) and installed a new silicone treated blade (PIAA or similar) and problem went away...

I'm sure eventually it will come back..

Wonder if by installing the rear wind deflector it will help keep window clean..?

Anyone with before and after wind deflector experience on how clean rear window is now..?

Same problem on my RX330. Dealer replaced the wiper blade but it had no effect. I'll be speaking with them about this soon. It's bad right out of the box and gets worse as it is used.

Default sucky rear wiper

Ours was streaky at the top two inches the day after we bought it and didn't get better. Told them about it at the 30 day inspection/service. Service writer told me that the tech had "increased the tension" and reversed the blade-top for bottom. I told him that there was no way to increase the tension so I doubted what the tech had said.

It was sunny when we left the dealer but we got a hard rain on the way home, if anything it was worse! Called them the next day and he asked us to bring it right back. Duh, we live an hour away, told him they could fix it at the 5,000 mile service, but that at that time we'll make them run a water hose on it while I sit in the driver's seat. Normall I'd live with it, but for $39K I want it right.

I'm coming up on my 8000 km checkup...I'm definitely having this problem addressed.

That 2-inch smear of dirt does not get cleaned. It's infuriating!

How would something so obviously wrong get through quality control?

I also forgot to mention on my earlier post that I replaced the existing cheap washer fluid with a fluid containing Rain-x and problem seams to have gone away...

What size is the rear wiper and how can you replace it? I can't seem to get it to slide out!
