Default what is this rusty pipe

does anyone know what this pipe is? why it's rusty? what i can do about it, because it looks horrendous to replace [looks like the alternator has to be removed].

any advice appreciated.

Thats a oil feed line that goes to the vct solenoid for the bank 2 exhaust.....

wow. this sounds difficult and expensive because it looks like the alternator has to be removed to get at this. any possibility of a "cheap and easy" fix, like cutting out the rusty section and putting a hose in there? or de-rusting the area and using "jb weld??" any other ideas??
